Photographs of cigar-shaped UFOs are rare. The reason is simple. They rarely fly at low altitude and it is thought that these craft cannot operate or manoeuvre well close to the earth. Typically they are described as 'motherships', perhaps designed for longer voyages. Smaller UFOs have been reported emerging from these large cigar craft. The cigar craft is a huge vessel, often reported to be 50 metres or more in width and up to 3000 metres long.
