Foo Fighters, described as highly manoeuvrable glowing balls of light (BOL), remain one of the great unsolved mysteries of WW2. They were reported by literally hundreds of pilots on both sides, especially in the European and Pacific fields of war. They were not hostile or threatening but were under perfect control.  They were observers that came alongside aircraft, for up to two hours at a time, before departing at tremendous speed. To the pilots who saw them they did not seem like a human creation. Foo Fighters have been sighted to the present day.
