GEELONG, VIC, 28 APRIL 1954 6AM
The driver and fireman of a train reported a dark purple light performing aerial manoeuvres before it swooped at the train but banked off only coming to 100 metres before it departed into the distance.

EAST MAIVERN, VIC, 30 MAY 1954 12AM
Six people saw an orange 'oval' travelling in a downwards curve. Then it went upwards with a cloud of orange-yellow smoke and flame seen at its rear. The whole sequence lasted about 5 seconds.

ELIZABETH, TAS, 31 MAY 1954 3:3PM
Two people saw a dark UFO come seemingly from ground level then straight into the sky at terrific speed. They claim the object left a white vapour trail.

NEAR EUCLA, WA 1955
Three young men saw an object fall to the ground. They searched for an hour before finding shiny chunks of jagged metal embedded in the ground. They then saw a figure which looked like a large frog from behind but sort of like a human from the front. They took some photos before the figure seemed to disintegrate and was gone.

SMITHFIELD, QLD, 29 MAY 1955
A farmer called Thomas Robinson saw with two other witnesses a strange flying 'light' that trailed flames. They said it landed five times, once at a distance of 100 metres. At this stage the farmers dogs ran from the house barking at the object.

WILCANNIA, NSW 1956
A man took a photograph of a UFO in the sky. It was a 'normal' saucer with a dome on top. The picture was analysed with no evidence of tampering. The picture can be viewed in Australian Photos.

CROWS NEST, QLD, 24 SEPT 1956
A lady saw a silver-grey 'bullet' about six metres long outside her home. It had no wings and was completely smooth except for 'cabin' on top and a small attachment at the rear. It circled her driveway at about 3 metres from the ground before taking off.

NEAR LAKE GARDNER, SA, 17 JULY 1958 9AM
Many witnesses heard a tremendous rushing noise followed by two loud bangs. A blue ball with a brilliant white tail was seen overhead. Authorities searched the scene and could only find a small area of ground which was much hotter than its surroundings. No crater was ever discovered.

RISDON, TAS, 8 JAN 1959 9PM
Two HEC employees saw a UFO about 3 metres long disappear behind a building. Moments later they saw three more objects in the sky and then a fourth object which they described as being like an       
"inverted skittle with a ball on the end of a handle". This object seemed to disappear into the River Derwent.

BOIANAI MISSION, PAPUA, 26 JUNE 1959 7PM
This UFO was seen approaching the mission by the Rev. W. Gill and 37 other witnesses. The object was circular with a wide base and a narrower upper deck. The object had legs and was hovering 100 metres above the witnesses. They claimed that at regular intervals a blue light shone from the UFO into the sky at a 45 degree angle. Apparently 'men' came out of the object and stood on the deck, sometimes two then three or four figures at a time. The object moved through some clouds and disappeared from view.

BOIANAI MISSION, PAPUA, 27 JUNE 1959 6-7PM
Again another similar disc was seen as well as two smaller objects. Witnesses say that figures appeared on the deck again and responded to the priests frantic waving from below. The disc also seemed to respond to torch light by wavering like a pendulum.

NEAR EURAMO, QLD, SEPT 1959
A large conical object that shone a bright red and orange colour was seen by a farmer called Max Mencel hovering one metre above his land. The object was 10 metres long and was so bright it illuminated a nearby house.

MT GAMBIER, SA, 14 MAY 1960
A group of people claimed they were followed by a strange red light that was about 3 metres in diameter. They were followed for several minutes.

BROADMARSH, TAS 1962
A report of a fire in a paddock in Brighton caused by a 6 metre long black object.

MOE, VIC, 15 FEB 1963 7AM
Two farmers reported a thick grey disc about 9 metres long with a dome on top over some distant trees. Then it hovered close by over clear ground and approximately 23 metres in the air. They heard no sound. After a few seconds the object took off at speed with a 'swishing' sound.

LEVENDALE, TAS, 23 APR 1963 10:30PM
A farmer saw a circular yellow UFO come from the West and pass him at least 50 metres in the air making no sound. The farmer said the object illuminated the ground and had a 30 metre diameter.

GLENBURNIE, SA, 16 MAY 1963 NIGHT
A car load of people reported being followed for several kilometres by a bright light. The light changed colour from bright white to red.

SANDY CREEK, SA, 28 JUNE 1963 9:30PM
A man travelling in his car braked sharply to avoid a collision with a dark red object blocking the road. When he was about 3 metres away it rose suddenly and quickly to a height of 100 metres. The object turned on it's side and flew off streaming a vapour trail. The object had a flat base, a concave top and was about four metres high and eight metres across.It's colour changed from blood red on the ground to a lighter red-yellow colour as it gathered speed.

WITTENOOM, WA, 2 AUG 1964
Several residents reported to the police a cigar-shaped object which shone with red, yellow, orange and white lights. It was 50 metres long and had windows along the side. It had a red tail and was still at a height of ten metres or so.

BOUGANVILLE REEF, QLD, 28 MAY 1965 3AM
The pilot and crew of an Ansett DC6 flight saw and took photographs of an 'oblate' object which emitted exhaust gases. It paced the plane for over fifteen minutes before flying away at high speed. They were told via radio not to develop the film until returning to Australia. The pilot and crew later claimed that the film had been confiscated immediately on arrival in Australia.
